TANZANIA PEACEKEEPING TROOPS FLAGGED OFF AHEAD OF LEBANON MISSION

Kunduchi, Dar es Salaam In a dignified ceremony held at the Tanzania Peacekeeping Training Centre (TPTC), Brigadier General George Mwita Itang'are, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Forces,General Jacob John Mkunda officially handed over the national flag to the Contingent Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Rajab.
The flag handover marks the final stage of preparation for the contingent's deployment to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. The symbolic gesture represents the trust and responsibility bestowed upon the troops as ambassadors of peace and unity under the Tanzanian flag.
Speaking at the event, Brigadier General Itang'are emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and dedication to duty, urging the contingent to uphold Tanzania’s proud legacy in international peacekeeping operations.
The troops are now set to join the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), continuing Tanzania’s commitment to promoting global peace and security.
