TPTC Conduct French Language Course

On 25 November 2022, the Advanced French Language course was officially closed at Tanzania Peacekeeping Training Center (TPTC). The course took nine months from 02 March 2022 to 25 November 2022. A total of 17 Tanzanian military personnel have graduated. The course was sponsored by the France government following the bilateral agreement with the Government of Tanzania. The aim of this language course was to build the communication capabilities in French language to officers and men of the Tanzania Peoples’ Defence Forces (TPDF).
French language is widely spoken in DRC and CAR which are the countries that our troops are deployed for Peace support operations. Thus, French communication capability is critical because it will lead to effective communication with the locals at the mission area and also the host governments. At his closing remark, Brigadier General William Mwakalonge who was the guest of honor firstly thanked the government of France for its support of enhancing the TPDF personnel French language capabilities. Secondly, he urged the course participants to keep on practicing the use of French language because it is easy to forget if they don’t.
The closing ceremony was also attended by the France Deputy Ambassador to Tanzania H.E Mr. Axel David Guillion. While addressing the audience, Mr. Guillion highlighted that the government of France will be sponsoring other courses of French language for the Tanzanian uniformed personnel in the near
