TPTC HOSTS THE LAUNCH OF THE NATIONAL ACTION PLAN FOR THE WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY AGENDA 2025 -2029

The Tanzania Peacekeeping Training Centre (TPTC) made history by hosting the official launch of the National Action Plan for the Women, Peace and Security Agenda 2025–2029. The launch took place on August 19, 2025, at the Centre’s auditorium in Kunduchi, Dar es Salaam. It was preceded by a symposium held on August 18, 2025, at the same venue.
The event was attended by various government leaders, including the Minister of Defence and National Service, Hon. Stergomena Tax; the Minister of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Hon. Dr. Dorothy Gwajima; and the Minister of Community Development, Gender, Elders and Children from the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Hon. Riziki Pembe. Also present were ambassadors from respective countries, representatives from Security and Defence Forces, Regional Commissioners, Religious leaders, and Civil Society Organizations.
The Guest of Honour was the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Doto Mashaka Biteko. In his keynote address, Hon. Biteko emphasized the importance of women's participation in matters of peace and security. He called upon all relevant ministries in Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar to allocate resources for the implementation of the plan. Furthermore, he urged Regional and District Commissioners, who chairs the Security and Peace Committees at their respective levels to ensure effective oversight and collaboration with development partners in executing the plan.
