TPTC LAUNCHES A UN CIVILIAN PEACEKEEPING COURSE

The Tanzania Peacekeeping Training Centre (TPTC) has launched the United Nations Civilian Peacekeeping Course, sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Japan. The course is taking place at the TPTC Kunduchi, Dar es Salaam, from June 09, 2025 to June 13, 2025. It has 20 participants who meet the qualifications to serve in peacekeeping operations from various civilian institutions.

The guest of honor at the opening ceremony was the Commandant of the Tanzania Peacekeeping Training Centre, Brigadier General George Mwita Itang’are. In his opening speech, he stated that the goal of the course is to prepare and equip civilians with the necessary skills and knowledge to efficiently and professionally carry out their roles in peacekeeping missions. He also highlighted that civilian peacekeepers often work in collaboration with other Security Forces, such as the Military and Police Components.
