The  Special Coordinator on Improving the UN Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Mr,Christian Saunders made an official visit to the Tanzania Peacekeeping Training Centre (TPTC) on September 27, 2025, located in Kunduchi, Dar es Salaam. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen international cooperation in combating gender-based violence, particularly in conflict-affected areas. Mr. Saunders expressed gratitude to Tanzania for its significant contribution to maintaining peace and security across Africa and the world. The visit reflects the United Nations’ strong commitment to enhancing efforts to fight gender-based violence.

Additionally,  Under Secretary-General met with officers and troops preparing to undertake peacekeeping missions in Lebanon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mr. Saunders addressed issues related to gender-based violence that may arise during their peacekeeping duties.
